“Technology in Education: A future classroom”


              Technology in education plays an important role in improving the educational skills and knowledge of the people. This is very important especially those who need improve their knowledge in order for them to achieve a successful life in the future. Technology in education is manifested through the use of computers. This is also a great help for teachers since they can already enhance their teaching skills and strategies every time they are facing their class. This technology is very essential for both the students and the teacher but there are some instances wherein this technology is seen to be disadvantageous for both of them as well.

                              Advantages in the use of technologies in education:

  1. Easier Access To Information – they don’t need to bring books back and forth from home to school because they can easily accessed the information in the books through computers with internet connections.
  2. Promotes independent learning in students – students will learn to study themselves.Even without assistance from parents and teachers, students can just look up their lessons online.
  3. Prepares students for the future – through the used of technologies in education, students  are being prepared for the advancements in technologies because it’s already obvious that its going to technologically-focused in the mere future.
  4. Allows teachers to create an exciting way to educate students – it gives students some interesting feeling to study because it also obvious that studying with graphics or any images are used accompanied in the lecture / lessons,.
  5. Has the potential to lower textbook and tuition prices – it can lessen the prices paid in miscellaneous fees because there’s no need of books anymore. Some parents can keep their money for more important purposes.

    Disadvantages of the use of technologies in education:

    1. Laziness in Studying – computers help them find answers faster. This can affect their way of studies.

    2. Makes students vulnerable to potential pitfalls – Technical problems and computer malfunctions can cause loss of assignments and other materials, resulting in high levels of stress that students would rather not experience.

    3. Can diminish overall value of in-person education – it can lessen a bit the learning experience because we can now use video calls for learning but its still much better if you can face personally the educator.

    4. Results in a lack of interest in studying – Because everything is now accessible online or through data saved in a computer or mobile devices, students are likely to develop poor studying habits and a lazy attitude towards education.

    5. Negative views on technology – technologies used in this education can be also used to play games, or entertain in social media activities rather used in learning like using a textbook.
